I see

If I see one more movie where a man saves a helpless girl.

One more show that idealizes young love.

One more story of success with no regret.

One more advertisement insinuating product use is linear with people and things.

One more broken child -hungry, sad, alone or abused- locked away in their heads, thinking the world hates them too.

If I see one more mother berating herself, striving for a standard she can’t uphold.

One more news story that no one can trust. Shown just for the ratings, because it’s money, or bust.

One more victimized man. Saying they are trying. Shut off. Confused. Their counterpart shell shocked and bruised.

One more relationship fail because we can’t just love.

One more person at the end of their life, afraid, shallow breath, tears on their face.

One more student, falling behind, work unsubmitted, wrestling with strife.

If I see just one more tiny, insignificant, unjust thing, I will have had enough.

Enough indoctrination, drama, lies, persuasion, enough innocence lost. Enough mental illness, pain, destruction, exclusion, enough manipulation. Enough, enough, enough!

I see, too much.
